Very important Toledo Public Schools meeting concerning Scott High School
Friday, Nov. 7th, 8:00 am -- Special School Board meeting, at which the TPS School Board will decide whether to renovate Scott. If the School Bond does NOT pass, then the School Board will likely agree to move ahead with building 2 new schools instead of renovating Scott (some argue that there may still be other avenues we can explore to renovate Scott). If the School Bond DOES pass, then we have to make sure the School Board votes to put Scott back into the Ohio School Facilities Commission program, under which it would get renovated using mostly state dollars. We have to make it clear that any School Board member who does NOT vote to renovate Scott as promised if the School Bond passed will not get off Scott-free (sorry, had to), and one way to do that is to have many supporters of Scott show up for this meeting.....Members of the public who wish to speak at the Special School Board meeting on Friday, Nov. 7th needs to register ahead of time (before 12 noon on Thursday) with the TPS Treasurer's office: (419) 671-8245.
Meetings are held in the Thurgood Marshall Building, 420 Manhattan Boulevard (on corner of Elm Street -- that's between Stickney and LaGrange) They have not yet announced what room each meeting will be in -- you'll have to ask someone once there.
